Why am I receiving a CoverProof request?

CoverProof handles zero-login declaration and counterparty confirmation links for FCA-regulated firms. This page explains what the request is, how to check it, and what happens when you respond.

Quick safety check

  • The link should match a request you expected from a firm or contact you recognise.
  • You should not need to create a CoverProof account or share your password.
  • If unsure, contact the requesting firm through a known channel before continuing.

Frequently asked questions

Why did I receive a CoverProof link?

A firm you work for, advise, or do business with has asked you to complete a short governance declaration or counterparty confirmation. CoverProof provides the secure workflow on that firm's behalf.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Declaration and counterparty links are zero-login links. You can respond without creating a CoverProof account.

How do I check whether the request is legitimate?

Check that the link was expected and came through the firm or contact you recognise. If you are unsure, do not reply to the email thread; contact the requesting firm through a known phone number or email address and ask them to confirm they sent the request.

Why does the page ask me to continue before showing the form?

The first screen protects your link from automated email-security scanners. CoverProof shows the form only after you choose to continue.

What happens to my response?

Your response is recorded for the requesting firm, timestamped, and included in its governance evidence record. CoverProof processes the response for that firm; it is not a public filing.

Is this legal advice?

No. The FAQ explains how CoverProof recipient links work. It is not legal advice about your role, your obligations, or the requesting firm's position.

If you received a link and still have concerns, contact the requesting firm directly. CoverProof cannot decide whether you should complete a declaration or confirmation for them.
